I agree about the extention of Martial Law in Mindanao because it protects people from terrorists. Take for example the recent Jolo Bombing which is a proof that military operations there were never effective. Twenty people were killed and more than 100 wounded in Sunday’s Attack on Jolo. Another example is the batttle in Marawi City so called the Marawi Seige between the government forces and Maute ISIS. How many such terrorists have been able to get into the City of Marawi with High caliber weapons that our armies do not even know? Its because of the lack of security there that resulted in a battle that lasted for a month and killed thousands of innocent people/civilians and destroyed urban structures that resulted in the collapse of the economy in marawi. The ultimate objective of Implementing Martial Law is to stop rebellion and terrorism particularly in mindanao. So there is no reason for us to stop this law until all the terrorist have been caught and the other form of crimes including terrorism finnaly resolved. One of the reason why other people have a fear of implementing it again because when said Martial Law, the law is immediately concerned with Ferdinand Marcos so other people are afraid to support it at present time because maybe it was the wrong thing to happen and should not happen to the martial law during marcos regime. But this should not be the case for us to prevent it form being implemented in mindanao because of the ongoing terrorism there that our military does not control it at all times. Meanwhile, it is not possible for our troops to attack a place where terrorists are said to hide and then move elsewhere to launch another attack. For me, this government strategy was wrong. They must build a strong presence of our troops to operate in every village and cobbled area and the police troops that can patrol in every region in mindanao that is believed to be a hiding place of the terrorists. Well, this is all an opinion about the timely and various issues of mindanao. But eventually, the government is still in the process of deciding whether to stop the Martial Law or even extend it for the security of our brothers and sisters here in mindanao.
